The province is investing $4.3 million to renovate Nova Scotia’s Court of Appeal and Supreme Court building, work that will extend the building’s life by decades and save money for taxpayers. This work starts a four-year, $22.5-million renovation project to upgrade the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and electrical services at The Law Courts on Upper Water Street in Halifax. The province is preserving a landmark pre-Confederation building in downtown Halifax by investing $2.25 million in repairs to the exterior of the Dominion Building, home of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.

To protect students and make roads safer, the province is introducing legislation today, Nov. 2, to reduce speed limits in school areas. The speed limit would be reduced from 50 km/h to 30 km/h when children are present in school areas where the surrounding speed zone is 50 km/hr.
